We are proud to offer an extensive range of IN-STOCK LockBolt Collar Rivets for your various application requirements. LockBolt Collar Rivets are commonly referred to as the “Huck® Bolt”. Huck® is a commonly used brand name to describe the generic “lockbolt collar rivet”. Rivet USA does not typically distribute the Huck® brand, but we do distribute other equal (or better!) versions of a “Huck® Bolt”.
This type of rivet is a 2-piece fastener system: the pin/bolt and the collar. A “lockbolt collar rivet” is considered a specialty type of rivet. We carry Goebel G-Grip™ Lockbolts rivets, RivetKing® Collar Bolt™ Multi Grip rivets, and RivetKing® Collar Bolt™ Fixed Grip rivets. Below lists more information on the various types of lockbolt rivets, along with the associated catalog excerpt for further dimensional and mechanical performance details on each rivet.
Your technical sales engineers are available at RIVET USA, just give us a call or send us an email. We typically revert rivet quotes SAME DAY. Remember to ask us about the right installation tool for your rivet!
Collar Bolt™ Multi Grip
The Collar Bolt™ Multi Grip provides fast and easy light duty connection of assembled components. The Collar Bolt™ Multi Grip allows for slightly variable hole sizes and is good for using in an application with non-consistent (varying) material thicknesses. Available now, these prove great for inventory consolidation, as one Collar Bolt™ can fasten between .500” (1/2 inch) up to nearly 1.000” (1 inch)! The pin and collar design offer high shear strength and controlled clamping for fastening metal to metal. Four body diameters (3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, and 3/8”) are available with head styles including button, truss, flush, broad truss, or rivet heads. Each size rivet is available in multiple grip ranges. Note, the rivet head only comes in size 3/16”, with a limited range. These lock bolt rivets are referred to as similar competitive offerings of Huck® Magnagrip® (HuckBolt®) or Avdel® Maxlok®.Click to Open a Catalog Excerpt - RivetKing®
Collar Bolt™ Fixed Grip
The benefit of a Collar Bolt™ Fixed Grip is that they range from light to heavy duty in application (higher number = more heavy duty). Collar Bolt™ Fixed Grip series can allow for slightly variable hole sizes and is good for use in applications with a consistent material thickness. The pin and collar design offer high shear strength and controlled clamping for fastening metal to metal. Four body diameters (3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, and 3/8”) are available with either brazier, truss, or flush heads. Collar styles come as standard, flange or low profile for each size. Collar Bolts™ come in steel, aluminum (2024 or 6061), and stainless steel, with a steel grip. Note, the flange collar has the widest range of head height and diameter for these lock bolt rivets. These sometimes are referred to as similar competitive offerings of Huck® C6L, C50L or C120L (HuckBolt) or Avdel® Avdelok®.Click to Open a Catalog Excerpt - RivetKing®
Goebel G-Grip Lockbolt™ Collar
The best LockBolt Collar for corrosion resistance (304 food grade stainless steel) is available at Rivet USA. This lockbolt is great for vibration resistance, too! Available in two diameters (3/16” and 1/4″ diameters) this stainless steel bolt comes with the following head styles: Button, Truss, Rivet, or 90° Flush. The G-Grip™ achieves the following multi-grip ranges: .062-.625”, .125-.625”, and .312-1.250”. The biggest advantage the G-Grip™ offers is an extensive grip range and sizes that one G-Grip™ can replace up to 14 sizes of the classic 6-groove locking fastener systems, reducing the need to stock multiple parts for sizes. Note the Truss Head style only comes in the 1/4″ diameter.
The G-Grip™ Lockbolt eliminates the need for a special nose tip for your Huck rivet gun as it uses the SAME nose assembly as the aluminum and steel Magnagrip huckbolts.
The LockBolt™ Collar installs in 4 steps:
- The threaded pin is inserted in the prepared hole from one side (blind install). The collar is placed on top of the pin’s end and is pushed down until it reaches the application material.
- Next, the pin is inserted in the nose piece of the installation tool, downwards along the LockBolt pin until the install tool reaches the collar.
- With the press of the button on the installation tool, immediately the swaging process of the collar to the pin starts. Simultaneously, the jaws inside of the mouthpiece pull the pin until it breaks off, completing the install (similar to a pinch-and-pull process).
- The result is a flush, broken pin and a tight-fitting collar. The combination of the pin and collar result in a high permanent clamping force and are mechanically locked, for a strong hold against vibrations.
